  • Older people who inexplicably and persistently lose weight over a period of years may be at greater risk for developing Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Several foods—oranges, radishes, apples, broccoli and potatoes—contain acetylcholinesterase inhibitors, compounds currently used to treat Alzheimer’s disease.
  • An antioxidant in green tea greatly reduces the buildup of beta-amyloid plaques—a hallmark of Alzheimer’s—by as much as 54% in the brains of mice.
