Walk Your Way to Lower Stroke Risk

Walking and other moderate physical activity may ward off strokes in women, according to an eight-year Harvard study of 72,000 middle-aged female nurses. Women who expended the most energy from any activity were about half as likely to suffer the most common type of stroke—ischemic, caused by a blood clot to the brain—than the least active women.
