Your Food is About to Get Much Safer

Recent foodborne illness outbreaks, including those caused by imported cucumbers and tomatoes served in restaurant chains, have captured the nationís attention. An estimated 48 million people get sick and 3,000 people die each year due to foodborne diseases. In response, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently released groundbreaking food safety rules for farms and imported food producers in a move to strengthen our food safety system and protect against foodborne illness.
