To Nuke…or Not? Microwave Facts

It didn’t take long for the microwave oven to become a must-have home kitchen appliance, as well as an expected fixture anywhere food is prepared—restaurants, break rooms, dorm rooms, hotels, and recreation rooms. Yet, a reputation for “nuking” food has cast a dark shadow on microwave ovens. While health experts and organizations, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, stand behind their safety, it’s important to draw the line between myth and fact when it comes to health and safety concerns.
