L-theanine Benefits; “Healthorexia” Dangers

If you ever experienced anxiety during stressful events—whether an important meeting or a major family event, you might have considered taking a natural remedy, such as L‑theanine, an amino acid in green tea that contributes to its good taste, and appears to help combat anxiety, according to some research. In addition, L-theanine has been shown to reduce blood pressure among people whose blood pressure increases more than normal when under physical or psychological stress. However, one recent study found no mood-enhancing benefits for L‑theanine during periods of increased anxiety.
