MyPlate, a Useful Tool for Healthy Eating
The American Dietetic Association, the worlds largest organization of food and nutrition professionals, gives MyPlate, the U.S. governments new graphic symbol for nutrition advice, the thumbs up. They reported that MyPlate will be a useful, intuitive way for people to eat well and improve their health. The new MyPlate icon, which is based on the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, is a plate split into four sections, each representing a different type of food (protein, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.)
