The Guava Leaf Glucose Story

In Asia, legend has it that the leaf of the guava tree can treat all manner of ailments, from arthritis to diarrhea. In recent years, Asian researchers have taken a serious look at the role of guava leaf in the treatment of one particular disease—diabetes. In fact, in Japan, guava leaf tea is on the list for a government program called “Foods for Specified Health Uses,”— similar to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s program for approved health claims for foods.
