A review examining evidence on health benefits linked with grapes and grape products found that they can positively influence risk factors for cardiovascular disease, cancer, neurodegenerative disease, and age-related cognitive decline. Further, beneficial effects of grapes on oral health, immune function, and antiviral activity also have been reported. These effects are likely due to the antioxidant activity and function of flavonoid compounds found in grapes, as well as other actions.
