Eco-Atkins diet offers heart health advantages. Scientists from Toronto found that a low-carbohydrate, high-plant protein ("Eco-Atkins") diet focusing on vegetable proteins from gluten, soy, nuts, fruits, vegetables and cereals had lipid-lowering and blood pressure reduction advantages over a high-carbohydrate, low-fat weight-loss diet.
