Is Chewable Tums an Acceptable Way to Get More Calcium?

Q. I take Tums as a calcium supplement, but should I be concerned that it hinders the absorption of calcium?

A. No, you donít have to worry. Tums is made from calcium carbonate, the same calcium source as in many other calcium supplements.
