Ginseng Fails to Perform as Promised
"Feel your Ginsana!" proclaims Chicago Bulls basketball star, Scottie Pippen, in a current television commercial. The wording may be vague, but the meaning is clear: Taking Ginsana, a brand of Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer, will impart energy and vitality, if not improve athletic performance. Ginseng is, indeed, widely touted as a botanical that can boost energy and improve athletic performance. European research has so far backed such claims, but studies in the U.S.
