Tighter Reins Sought for Imported Produce
Standards for imported produce may finally be brought up to snuff, under a newly announced proposal EN heartily endorses. In response to rising food imports and several high-profile outbreaks of illness linked to them, President Clinton proposed legislation on October 2 to require all foreign produce to meet the same food safety standards as domestic produce.
