Can Soup in a Can Compare to Homemade?
Homemade soups certainly are tasty, but canned soups serve up convenience. Do they also serve up good nutrition? Surprisingly, the canned soups we surveyed deliver a decent amount of protein and carbohydrate in addition to respectable amounts of vitamins, minerals and fiber. But they also pack a wallop of sodium. Most broth-based soups, like vegetable or chicken noodle, provide less than three grams of fat and less than 120 calories per one-cup serving.
